Co-creation and platform economy

Minor

The Co-creation and platform economy minor focuses on empowering future graduates to contribute with their knowledge in the decision making process of products and services fundamental for success in our current complex world. Future engineers need to be equipped to understand how their knowledge and expertise can be combined with different skill sets to produce competitive products and services that have a direct impact on our society and our economy.

We utilize co-creation as a strategy to facilitate and promote the combination of different knowledge domains to collectively produce outcomes. By co-creation we mean any act of collective creativity shared by two or more people.

The module can be completed by choosing courses offered by both universities.

With these courses, you can learn about

  • how to design new digital products and services for platform economy as well as how to implement these products and services as web and cloud based software intensive systems.
  • how to plan and work in large software development projects.

You will get familiar with systematic processes and analytic tools that companies use for developing and implementing new business models in a digital environment. In addition, you will understand the increasing role of digital platforms and ecosystems in value creation as well as the need to align business models in a complementary and synergistic manner with other parties within their ecosystem.

This module is suitable for engineering students who are interested to extend their knowledge of digital business models and aspects changing and impacting businesses via digitalisation.
