Environmental engineering and design
Individual course
If you are taking this course as part of a FITech minor, please note that all minors will be offered for the last time in the academic year 2021-2022. Please check the individual courses for updates regarding future availability.
The course gives the students detailed insight into a selection of processes representing state of the art technologies for control of air and water emissions. Specific examples treated are the design and operational costs of baghouse filters, scrubbers for marine applications, scrubbers for CO2 removal and sorbent-based filters.
After a completed course, the student is expected to be able to independently analyse and solve different air and water pollution problems.
Each process and the dimensioning principles are introduced through lectures. The students will design and dimension the process as project assignments. Each assignment will be presented and discussed during seminars. The lectures are available online.
