Industrial ICT

Minor

The Industrial ICT minor addresses a specific challenge of the 4th industrial revolution in manufacturing and industry: to bridge engineering education knowledge with ICT understanding.

Since the current industrial transformation continues to be influenced by automatization, this minor involves diverse topics ranging from: data exchange, cloud services, cyber-physical systems, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), security, (semi-)autonomous industrial techniques, among others.

Therefore, the Industrial ICT minor focuses on offering some of the fundamental ICT knowledge needed in industry to support the creation of a “smart industry” by bridging manufacturing goals with new technologies. The connection of these two fields of expertise enables individuals to build their understanding for the development of strategic industrial innovations.

NB! The course Industrial seminar on Future Technologies is compulsory in order to complete this minor.
