Principles of metal shaping and forming

Individual course

During the course, common constitutive material models for different metals are examined. Processing methods effecting to the microstructure like rolling, forging, extrusion and wire drawing are included in course as like the sheet metal forming processes. In addition, e.g. the information from tensile tests is combined to the theory of plasticity and constitutive material models.

The object is to get students to understand the fundamentals of theory of plasticity. After the course, student should have a readiness to apply theory of plasticity to metal forming analyses and to solve the simple stress distributions based on external loads.
