Production optimization
Individual course
If you are taking this course as part of a FITech minor, please note that all minors will be offered for the last time in the academic year 2021-2022. Please check the individual courses for updates regarding future availability.
The course covers linear and non-linear mathematical programming with discrete and continuos variables. Several classes of problems are introduced and assignment and transport problems using a network formulation. General frame work models such as state task network are used to solve complex production problems. Also, classical problems such as the travelling salesman and quadratic assignment problems are covered.
The problems are solved using tools developed for solving mathematical programming problems.
After the course, the student is expected to be able to formulate and solve production optimization problems using mathematical programming.
