This course is an introduction to IoT-based systems.
Course contents
- Introduction to CPSs
- Core concepts: system, uncertainty, information, network, decision-making and action
- The three-layers of CPSs
- Enabling information and communication technologies
- Examples of CPSs and their social impact.
Learning outcomes
After the course you will be able to
- understand what cyber-physical systems (CPSs) are
- define uncertainty, information, network, decision-making and action as concepts
- analyse CPSs as constituted by three necessary layers with three cross-layer operations
- indicate enabling technologies of CPSs
- design and assess the performance of simple CPSs, as well as critically discuss their social impact.
Course materials
Textbook, simulations in python produced by the teachers and other suggested materials.
