Introduction to electrochemical energy storage and conversion technologies
Yksittäinen kurssi
Course contents
The course provides the student an introduction to the significance and development potential of electrochemical energy conversion technologies and electrochemical energy storages. Focus is on the electrochemical energy conversion methods as a part of the renewable electricity driven energy and material systems. The lectures give an overview of the batteries, water electrolysis, and hydrogen storages.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to
- understand the need and potential of electrochemical energy storages.
- know the fundamentals of electrochemistry and key electrochemical energy conversion processes.
- estimate the energy and conversion efficiencies of the energy conversion system.
Completion methods
The course consists of online lectures (to be recorded) combined with weekly exercices. Homework will be given in the end of each lecture.
