Wireless communication systems
Yksittäinen kurssi
This course introduces the fundamental theories used in communication engineering.
The course will cover an introduction to analog and digital modulation, noisy channel and capacity. The studies will focus on computational tools to visualize how data is transmitted.
Course contents
- Review of signals and systems
- Analog modulation
- Digital modulation
- Review of probability theory and stochastic processes
- Demodulation
- Basics of coding and information theory
- 4G/5G digital transmission techniques
The students will be able to analyze and design simple wireless communication systems, including physical layer for analog and digital transmission (e.g. bandwidth, channel modeling, modulation, demodulation, bit-error rate, channel coding and capacity). The students will also learn how to use some Python libraries for signal processing, communications and mathematical analysis in Jupyter notebooks.
Completion methods
