Teaching and accessibility legislation
Yksittäinen kurssi
This module introduces the student to the Finnish legislation regarding accessibility, teaching, and the right for assistance in the classroom for people with disabilities.
Course contents
The student will learn about the education-specific accessibility legislation as well as more general legislation regarding the rights of people with disabilities. The student will also reflect on these topics and think about how they relate to their own experiences and possible future plans in the field of education.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will
- have a basic understanding of the legislation that relates to ensuring that everyone has the right for education.
- be able to reflect on how these laws have been followed in practice, and think about what they themselves could do in the future to make sure everyone’s legal rights in the classroom are respected.

Completion methods
Independent assignments and final essay. The course can be completed at your own pace.
