This course provided comprehensive introduction to the methods of network analysis and dimensioning. This includes e.g.
- basic understanding of theories network analysis is based upon
- basic understanding of useful math techniques involved
- understanding of basic notions and relations of queuing theory
- understanding of basic principles of modern network simulators
Course material
All course activities except the exam can be completed remotely. Self-studying option is also available. Lectures and homework recordings as well as other materials like lecture notes, example problems, etc. available on the Tampere University Moodle pages and will be available to registered students.
The course has scheduled lecture and seminar meetings on MS Teams. The course can also be studied in self-studying manner during the implementation period. The course contains advanced level material, so participation in the lecture and exercise meetings is highly recommended. Introduction to the mathematical subjects utilised in the course (probability theory, Markov processes, statistical methods) is provided in a specially designed introductory part.
Electronic on-campus exam using the EXAM system. The exam can be taken in any Finnish university supporting the EXAM system.
