Speech and audio to text

The course covers the basic principles and methods of translating speech and audio to text.

Course contents

Both human-led methods and automatic technologies are introduced, including audio captioning, print interpreting, speech recognition, re-speaking.

After completing the course, the student will

• know the basic principles of audio and speech captioning.
• understand differences between human and machine-produced methods and captions.
• have basic knowledge of how to produce text alternatives for speech and audio.
