Course contents
The module introduces the very basics of user experience evaluation in the context of human-technology interaction. These are described through concrete cases that demonstrate how evaluation design is affected by the special characteristics of certain user groups and how they need to be taken into account. The examples consist of field studies conducted with special user groups, such as individuals with developmental disabilities, visually impaired users, physically disabled users, and children.
Learning outcomes
After completing the module, the student will
- be aware of the most basic techniques employed to evaluate interactive applications.
- be aware that not all methods are suitable as such to be used with different kinds of user groups.
- be able to consider items requiring extra attention when designing accessible user experience evaluations.
