FITech Network University continues to offer free courses in energy storage
The free energy storage course offering by FITech Network University will continue until the end of 2025
The Ministry of Education and Culture has granted a new extension for FITech Network University’s Energy Storage project. Thus, the energy storage courses provided by Finnish universities of technology are available free-of-charge until 31 December, 2025. According to the previous funding decision, the FITech Energy Storage project would have finished at the end of year 2024.
The extension provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture provides the FITech network with an opportunity to continue providing free-of-charge education to meet the needs of the developing battery and energy industries until the end of year 2025. University of Vaasa coordinates the project.
FITech Energy Storage provides opportunities for working professionals and all those interested in the themes to deepen and update their knowledge in recent courses in energy technology and business. Its three study themes are chemistry and materials of energy storages, applications and technologies of energy storages, and energy markets and business models. The energy storage courses provide study opportunities for both adult learners and degree students.

The FITech network is also participating in a national cybersecurity education development project, led by the University of Jyväskylä. Cybersecurity education is currently offered through the ICT and 5G initiatives.
FITech is a network formed by universities of technology. Its goal is to guide experts to growth sectors in Finland and respond to competence needs arising in the field of technology. The member universities of the network are Aalto University, University of Eastern Finland, University of Jyväskylä, LUT University, University of Oulu, Tampere University, University of Turku, University of Vaasa and Åbo Akademi University. The founding members also include the Technology Industries of Finland and Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland (TEK).
