The application for spring courses will open later than previously announced for degree students.

FITech will renew its teaching cooperation agreement starting January 1, 2026, which will result in some changes to the spring course application period for degree students.

Below we provide more information on the upcoming changes and their schedule.

Degree students from FITech universities: application period starts on December 1, 2025

Degree students from FITech universities can apply for courses the same way as before, but only starting on December 1, 2025. Please note that this also applies to the application for continuously available courses. Otherwise, there are no changes in the course application process for degree students from the FITech universities.

FITech universities include Aalto University, LUT University, Tampere University, University of Eastern Finland, University of Jyväskylä, University of Oulu, University of Turku, University of Vaasa, and Åbo Akademi University.

Degree students from other universities and universities of applied sciences: more information in November

The new teaching cooperation agreement aims to include as many Finnish higher education institutions as possible, to allow their degree students to take FITech courses in the future. We are currently assessing which institutions outside the FITech network will join the renewed agreement.

We will inform about the participating institutions by the end of November 2025. If your home institution has signed the new teaching cooperation agreement, you can apply for FITech courses starting December 1, 2025. Please note that this also applies to the applications for continuously available courses and the registration of ECTS credits for MOOC courses.

Adult learners: application period starts on November 11, 2025

Adult learners can apply for upcoming spring FITech courses as usual, starting on November 11, 2025.

Adult learners are defined as all individuals who do not currently hold degree rights at a Finnish higher education institution. For example, if you are employed, unemployed, high school or vocational school student, university postgraduate student, open university student, or outside the workforce, apply as an adult learner.
