B2B markets are an important backbone of the economy and operates under different circumstances compared to consumer markets. Companies must develop strategies for navigating complex and changing markets, and to secure access to resources. Students will expand their understanding of the business environment and relationships with different stakeholders, as well as how to manage these relationships and align them with the organisation’s strategy and business goals.
Course contents
The course introduces the students to business-to-business (B2B) contexts and market dynamics, with special focus on the networked nature of B2B markets and business relationships, ecosystem strategy among B2B firms, as well as the role of B2B brands. The course further introduces the students to the concepts of coopetition, networked business models, and value propositions, and their strategic dimensions in managing B2B firms.
Learning outcomes
After the course, the students are able to
- describe central concepts in B2B contexts
- analyse B2B relationships and networks
- explain the relevance of business and innovation ecosystems for the firm.
