Electrical measurement principles FITech 1–5 ECTS

Course contents

This course introduces units of measures, standards of measures, analysis of errors, most commonly used analog and digital measuring methods, equipment and electrical safety regulations.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student is able to

  • measure basic measurements with a multimeter
  • measure basic measurements with an oscilloscope
  • operate signal and function generators
  • estimate the validity of their measurements.

Course material

All course material including the video material and virtual laboratory exercises are available through Moodle.

Teaching schedule

The course can be taken as a self-study course based on an own individual time schedule. Thanks to the virtual laboratory environment, exercises can be completed fully online.

Completion methods

You can complete 1–5 ECTS from this course. The options are:

  • Lectures and small questionaries: 1 ECTS, grade pass/fail
  • In addition the laboratory exercises: 3 ECTS, grade pass/fail
  • In addition the final exam: 5 ECTS, grade 0-5.
