Industrial value creation

Individual course

If you are taking this course as part of a FITech minor, please note that all minors will be offered for the last time in the academic year 2021-2022. Please check the individual courses for updates regarding future availability.

The goal of the course is to provide an overview of the changing premises for value creation on industrial markets and the various means to create, deliver and capture value based on these premises. We use the business model concept to understand how industrial companies can meet changing demands, contribute to and cease new opportunities when value creation is becoming increasingly intangible, when companies are expected to work towards the sustainable development goals, and when new digital technologies are introduced on the market.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Value creation
  • Servitization
  • Business model innovation
  • Sustainable and circular business models
  • Industry 4.0
  • Digital business models
