Individual course

The course introduces power electronics used in electric drives and power supplies. Topics discussed are power electronic systems, overview of power semiconductor switches, line-commutated ac-dc rectifiers, dc-dc switch-mode converters, and self-commutated dc-ac inverters.

After the course, the student understands the operation principles of power electronics and the operation of the most essential converters.

Attendance at lectures and exercises is recommended (organized remotely). There will be a written exam.
