Web accessibility I (technical)

Individual course

The course introduces guidelines and other standards related to web accessibility, such as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Course contents

The course explains the web accessibility principles (POUR), but focuses on technical specifications, primarily explaining the WAI-ARIA, the Accessible Rich Internet Applications suite of web standards.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will

  • be able to create an accessible web document following the guidelines.
  • understand how to meet the requirement by maximising compatibility with current and future user agents, including assistive technologies.

Completion methods

Independent assignments and final essay. The course can be completed at your own pace.
