FITech courses coming soon

Are you wondering what to study next?

There are some new and exciting courses as well as some previous favorites in the FITech study offering during this year.

Application periods for 2020

ICT summer courses will be published and the application period starts on 30 March at 12 pm.

ICT courses starting in fall will be published in mid-May. Application period starts on 8 June at 12 pm.

Minor studies starting in fall will be published and the application period starts on 4 May at 12 pm.

Application period for MOOCs starts later this spring.

FITech MOOCs provide skills for the digital era

Studying with FITech has never been easier! MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) are meant for everyone wanting to update their knowledge in the field of ICT.

Aalto University offers three basic courses in the topics of programming (Ohjelmoinnin perusteet), data (Data & tieto) and mobile applications (Mobiilisovellukset).

LUT University offers a new course on everyday information security and especially cyber security (Tietoturvan perusteet). This course gives you a thorough view of what’s happening in the field. After this course, you will know what are the most important things to consider when it comes to protecting your digital surroundings.

These courses are taught in Finnish. More information will be added later. You can study one or more of the courses but it’s not mandatory to take all of them.

Machine Learning with Python (Aalto University)

Aalto University’s course Machine Learning with Python comes again! It has been the most popular course in FITech ICT study offering as almost 900 people have already applied for the earlier implementations of the course.

The course will be organised two times this year: in summer and fall. The summer course will be organised 4.5.–31.7. Application period starts on 30 March.

For the first time, you will also be able to study an advanced course called Deep Learning with Python.

On this course, you will learn how to use state-of-the art deep learning methods with Python. We will discuss key concepts of deep learning, such as artificial neural networks, data augmentation, transfer learning and feature learning in a hands-on fashion.

These courses are taught in English. More information will be added later.

Web-teknologiat (University of Vaasa)

A new implementation of the course Web-teknologiat (in Finnish) is organised again this summer. The course starts on May 11, 2020.

On this course, you will learn the basics of web programming using modern programming tools. You will also learn to create a web-based information system using Java and Angular.

Apply before May 4!
