How to face a disabled person

Individual course

During this course the students have possibilities to reflect on and learn current phenomena on participation of disabled people.

Course contents

The course offers different interpretations on how society can be seen by the disabled people. One current topic is how Covid-19 has effected the everyday lives of disabled people in the context of physical and digital environments. The course offers tips and hints related to accessibility and what to consider, regarding for example meetings in physical environments or online meetings.

Learning outcomes

After completing the module you will

  • have a holistic understanding of disabled persons and their prospects for participation (in digital environments).
  • have competences to see diversity of the disabled people and the modes of participation solutions that exist in their everyday lives.
  • understand how available options may also define self-actions and how to strengthen it in different ways.

Completion methods

Independent assignments and final essay. The course can be completed at your own pace.
