University of Vaasa offers FITech students courses on modern technologies of marine machineries and energy generation. Renewable fuels, emissions abatement and engine technologies are dealt with. The minor also covers a variety of methods to increase renewable energy generation in both off- and on-shore applications.
For FITech ICT students, University of Vaasa offers both basic and advanced courses in information technology.
The students will gain knowledge about the basics of the information system development processes, databases, computer programming and software design. A more advanced module on digital management provides knowledge on how to manage ICT functions and govern IT processes.
The module on robust intelligent systems teaches about theoretical concepts of machine learning algorithms and methods for AI, and how to design and implement different intelligent systems resiliently.
