Cross-institutional studies for degree students

In the future, Finnish higher education degree students will apply to certain FITech courses in the cross-institutional study service (RIPA) instead of Studyinfo. Check the instructions for cross-institutional studies with your home institution.

From now on, degree students will apply to FITech courses either in Studyinfo like before (other than energy studies) or in RIPA (energy studies). Finnish higher education institutions have been able to join FITech’s cross-institutional agreements and specify which of their degree programmes’ students may apply to courses in RIPA.

Energy-themed studies will be the first FITech studies to move to the RIPA service. Applying for these courses in RIPA starts on August 1, 2026. Other FITech courses will be moved to the service later.

Please note that this change does not affect adult learners and they will continue to apply to courses in Studyinfo the same way as before (Opintopolku).

FITech’s cross-institutional agreements for energy studies

  • The FITech Energy I agreement includes bachelor’s-level courses offered by FITech universities. Degree students at Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences whose institution and degree programme are included in the agreement may apply to these courses in RIPA.
  • The FITech Energy II agreement includes master’s-level courses offered by FITech universities. Degree students at FITech universities whose degree programme is included in the agreement may apply to these courses in RIPA.

Participating institutions and degree programmes

Degree students whose home institution and degree programme are included in the agreement may apply to FITech courses in RIPA starting on August 1, 2026.

Information about the application channel for degree students (Studyinfo or RIPA) can be found on each course’s own FITech page. If the course is applied for in RIPA, there is a text at the bottom of the course page informing you to apply in RIPA.

See the list of institutions and degree programmes covered by the cross-institutional agreements below. If your home institution and degree programme are not listed, you unfortunately cannot apply to the course.
