Cross-institutional studies for degree students

Degree students from Finnish higher education institutions apply to FITech courses in Studyinfo or the cross-institutional study service (RIPA). Finnish higher education institutions have been able to join FITech’s cross-institutional agreements and specify which of their degree programmes’ students may apply to courses. Check the instructions for cross-institutional studies with your home institution.

The first FITech studies to move to RIPA were energy-themed studies. Other studies will be moved to RIPA later. Information about the application channel for degree students (Studyinfo or RIPA) can be found on each course’s own FITech page.

FITech’s cross-institutional agreements

See the list of institutions and degree programmes covered by FITech’s cross-institutional agreements below. If your home institution and programme are not included in the agreements, you unfortunately cannot apply to FITech courses in RIPA.

FITech Energy I

The FITech Energy I agreement includes bachelor’s-level courses. Degree students at Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences whose institution and degree programme are included in the agreement may apply to these courses.

FITech Energy II

The FITech Energy II agreement includes master’s-level courses. Degree students at FITech universities whose degree programme is included in the agreement may apply to these courses.

Frequently asked questions

Check whether the course’s FITech page is instructing you to apply in RIPA. If yes, apply in RIPA. If not, the course is applied for in Studyinfo and the “Start here” button on the course page will take you to the application form.

Degree students apply for most energy-related courses in RIPA. Other courses are still in Studyinfo.

Go to the course search on FITech’s website. Find the Student type menu for and choose “degree student” as the filter. As you open the course’s own page, you can see whether you apply via RIPA or Opintopolku. You can recognise RIPA courses by the notice at the top of the course page instructing you to apply in RIPA.

If the course is available for degree students through FITech and the application is not in RIPA, you can apply in Studyinfo if your home institution is included in FITech’s teaching cooperation agreement. See the list of institutions included in the agreement.

If your home institution is not included in the teaching cooperation agreement, you unfortunately cannot apply for FITech courses in Studyinfo.
