Tietoliikennetekniikan perusteet
Kurssi esittelee keskeiset käsitteet ja toimintaperiaatteet nykyisten ja tulevien tietoliikennejärjestelmien ymmärtämiseksi. Kurssilla käydään läpi miten dataa siirretään tehokkaasti lähettimestä vastaanottimeen ja miten siirtotien ominaisuudet rajoittavat saavutettavaa tiedonsiirtonopeutta. Lisäksi tutustutaan siihen miten yksittäisistä laitteista muodostetaan kokonaisia tietoliikenneverkkoja. Kurssi myös konkretisoi tietoliikenteen merkitystä nykyisessä digitalisoituvassa yhteiskunnassa.
