Communications ecosystems
Internet has grown to a complex global system of networks, protocols, computers, services, applications, companies, users, and regulators. This system keeps expanding and adapting to all aspects of society. To a certain extent, the complexity and dynamics of Internet already resemble that of natural ecosystems. Thus, we can actually talk about communications ecosystems.
Studying university courses on communications ecosystems helps a student to better understand the cohabitation of technology and business, especially the mapping between technical ICT architectures and market architectures (value networks). This knowledge can be used in industry for creating new business models, more feasible products and services, and better ICT regulation.
