AI and machine learning
Artificial intelligence and machine learning are renewing our ways of working. The methods have developed rapidly in recent years, and soon almost anyone will be able to utilise artificial intelligence in their work.
However, taking advantage of new opportunities requires knowledge of basic methods.
On the basic courses, you will get a good overview on several intelligent approaches which can be used to solve different types of real life tasks. Course contents are for example
- Problem solving using artificial intelligence based approaches
- Concepts of search, regression, classification and clustering types of problems
- Difference between supervised and unsupervised learning
In-depth understanding and utilisation of machine learning and artificial intelligence in different business areas requires knowledge of both the business area and the specific methods developed for it.
During the advanced courses, you will be familiarised with concepts such as data gathering, data preprocessing and normalisation, missing data and outliers.
Courses run through different aspects of modern intelligent methods for data processing. Some of the courses focus especially on classifiers and classification. Courses present the concept of “big data” and different phenomena related to it, including requirements and principles for data. Courses also provide an elementary hands-on introduction to deep learning.
On both course levels, you will also be presented with machine learning. Machine learning is a specific area of artificial intelligence. Its function is to enhance a software to work better based on ground knowledge and user actions. Machine learning and artificial intelligence methods have been developed for various industries, such as medicine, speech processing, speech recognition, machine vision and energy technology applications.

If the application period is not active, you can subscribe to the course. This way, you will receive an email notification when the application period starts or other course information is changed.
All studies are free of charge. FITech reserves the right to change the course information without prior notice.
NB! You can take one or more courses but it is not mandatory to complete all of the courses in the specialization. Some courses have limits on the amount of FITech students. Persons without a valid study right to a Finnish university have preference to those courses.
